Product Description
100mM Glycine is used in the affinity purification of antibodies, and within elution buffers. During affinity chromatography, an antibody bound to an antigen (or peptide) on a column can be detached by reducing the pH of the elution buffer. A glycine solution at pH 2.5-3.0 is commonly employed for this purpose because the low pH disrupts the antibody and antigen binding, allowing the antibody to be eluted from the column without denaturing it significantly. This solution is prepared in WFI-Quality Water.
