50X Denhart’s solution is used primarily in molecular biology for blocking non-specific binding sites in northern and southern blotting. It is composed of bovine serum albumin (BSA), Ficoll, and polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP), which work together to prevent background noise when diluted to 1X in hybridization buffers.
