Triton X-100 Solution is a non-ionic, non-denaturing surfactant widely used in various molecular biology, biochemistry, and cell biology applications. Triton X-100 is an important component of cell lysis buffer to facilitate the solubilization of protein. It effectively breaks down the lipid layers without denaturing proteins, making it ideal where the protein integrity to be maintained. Triton X-100 is used to permeabilize the living cells in transfection, flow cytometry and immunostaining protocols.
